Berco UK History

  • We are a subsidiary of Berco Spa, the world leader in the supply of undercarriage components
  • We are part of ThyssenKrupp AG
  • The subsidiary launch project was launched on 1st October 2005 and started operation on 14th February 2006
  • First delivery to Komatsu May 2006 and to JCB January 2007
  • Moved to new premises in Spennymoor on 1st May 2008
  • Launched project to supply Aftermarket in October 2008
  • First complete frame delivery to new OEM in March 2009

  • 1920      Constitution of the Company (Berco 1)
  • 1940      Berco has more than 650 employees         
  • 1960      TEG created, later Berco subsidiary in Germany
  • 1977      50% participation of Hoesch AG
  • 1986      100% participation of Hoesch AG
  • 1987      First large investment program: volume growth, opening to OEM, new technology in                manufacturing.
  • 1989      Acquisition of Simmel (Berco 2)
  • 1992      Krupp takes over Hoesch
  • 1995      Berco of America is created (USA)
  • 1998      Acquisition of “Fils” Busano (Berco 3)
  • 1999      Merger of Thyssen & Krupp:  ThyssenKrupp
  • 2000      Installation of the largest spindle-press in the world 32,000 tons
  • 2002      BercoSul (Brazil) operational
  • 2005      Berco UK operational
  • 2007      Berco Shanghai operational
  • 2008      Berco Bulgaria operational
