Berco UK is committed to understanding and minimising our impact on the world around us. Good environmental practice is what our customers expect and as a team we try hard not to disappoint them or our wider stakeholders.
What we're doing
Environmental best practice, wherever reasonably practicable, is incorporated into the decision making process across our company and this touches everything we do, from how we run the site, to how we provide just in time services to our customers.
How we're doing it
As you can see from our environmental policy statement we are focusing our impact in 3 key areas:

Energy
In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint we will drive energy efficiencies in the maintenance and management of our site, raise awareness and encourage good practice amongst all of our team, contractors and visitors and promote the benefits of energy efficiency throughout the company.
Waste
Our aim is to reduce the impact on the environment by reducing the amount of resources we use and that we reuse and recycle more of the things that are currently treated as waste. This will be assisted by our management system and our focus on continual improvement through our accreditation to ISO: 14001. This certification, in addition to our environmental policy, can be found in the downloads section below.
Pollution
We actively manage any potential sources of pollution by continuing to source more environmentally friendly machinery and infrastructure, educating our team in good practice behaviour and have systems and processes in place to comfortably deal with any spillages.
Our efforts in 2011 resulted in the company either reusing or recycling over 90% of its waste produced, a target which we hope to increase in the forthcoming years.
